Norfolk Island Experience from Sydney and other departures

Today we fly into Sydney. On arrival we utilise the hotel shuttle and transfer to our hotel for the night and unwind, with time to relax before our Norfolk Island adventure truly begins tomorrow. This evening dinner is at leisure and available at the hotel restaurant.

We depart Sydney today, flying direct to Norfolk Island, our island home for the next seven nights. On arrival, we are warmly welcomed by a Baunti Tours representative and transferred to the South Pacific Resort Hotel to check in and settle into our surroundings. The remainder of the afternoon is free to relax, unpack or explore the resort grounds at our own leisurely pace. This evening, we come together for a welcome dinner at the hotel, the perfect relaxed introduction to Norfolk Island’s warm hospitality and easygoing island lifestyle.

We begin the day early with a guided Breakfast Bushwalk, discovering Norfolk’s native flora and birdlife on a scenic morning walk before rewarding ourselves with a delicious al fresco breakfast. This afternoon, we visit the former home of celebrated author Colleen McCullough, exploring her beloved property “Out Yenna” and viewing the remarkable collection of artefacts she and husband Ric Robinson gathered on their travels. This evening, we gather cliffside for the Baunti Island Fish Fry, feasting on fresh local seafood while enjoying live music and island dancing as the sun sets over the Pacific.

This morning, we join the Discover Norfolk Tour, a scenic introduction to the island’s history, culture and landscapes with knowledgeable local guides. This afternoon, we continue with the Farm & Industry Tour, visiting working farms and local industries to discover how Norfolk Islanders combine tradition with innovation to sustain their unique way of life. This evening, we experience genuine island hospitality during a signature Progressive Dinner, where each course is hosted in a different island home, giving us the chance to meet locals and share stories over a memorable three-course meal.

This morning, we visit Sorrel Wilby’s Gallery, enjoying a fascinating tour through the artist’s studio and gallery space while learning about her work and connection to Norfolk Island. This afternoon, we step into the island’s Pitcairn heritage at Pitcairn Settlers Village, exploring the original Bailey homestead, museum and historic outbuildings, including the oldest working forge in the South Pacific. This evening, we enjoy a delicious two-course dinner at Hilli’s, one of Norfolk’s most loved restaurants, complemented by a complimentary beverage in relaxed island surroundings.

We begin the morning with transfers to church and the vibrant Sunday Island Markets, where we can attend a service, browse handmade crafts and fresh local produce, and soak up the relaxed community atmosphere. This afternoon, we step back in time on the Convict Kingston Tour through the World Heritage-listed Kingston settlement, wandering amongst atmospheric ruins and hearing stories of convicts, military officers and free settlers who shaped Norfolk’s remarkable history. This evening, we return to the resort for a relaxed dinner together.

This morning, the Norfolk Today Tour reveals how modern island life operates, from essential services and industry to the island’s unique laws and customs. This afternoon, we join the Norfolk Culture Tour, learning how Polynesian, convict and Pitcairn influences have shaped the island’s traditions, music and way of life while sampling local dishes. This evening, we step into a convict-era trial for the playful “Who Killed the Surveyor?” Mystery Dinner, filled with laughter, suspense and a hearty island meal.

This morning is at leisure, giving us time to relax at the resort, browse local shops or simply enjoy Norfolk Island at our own unhurried pace. This afternoon, we embark on the Taste of Norfolk experience, sampling delicious local dishes and delicacies while learning how the island’s heritage and environment have shaped its distinctive cuisine. This evening, we come together for the entertaining Bounty Show & Dinner, enjoying live performance, storytelling and a hearty island meal to close out our final full day.
