Day 1. Sydney to Kuala Lumpur

Arriving at Kuala Lumpur International Airport we transfer to our hotel in Bukit Bintang. After time to rest, we enjoy a welcome dinner at Bijan Restaurant. Experience refined Malay cuisine inspired by heritage recipes, setting the tone for our journey with warm hospitality and rich culinary traditions in the city’s vibrant heart.

Day 2. KL Vagabond Cultural Experience
Today we discover Kuala Lumpur beyond its skyline on a cultural exploration. Walk across Saloma Link and explore Kampung Baru, Little India, and the riverfront. Visit Sin Sze Si Ya Temple, Sri Mahamariamman Temple, and Masjid Jamek to experience Malaysia’s multicultural harmony. Sample local favourites like nasi lemak, roti canai, and teh tarik, ending at the Klang-Gombak river confluence for insight into the city’s history..

Day 3. Batu Caves & City Icons
Our day begins at the Batu Caves, admiring the towering golden statue of Lord Murugan before climbing 272 steps to the limestone cave temple. Enjoy panoramic city views and playful monkeys along the way. Return to the city center to visit the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, including access to the Skybridge for breathtaking skyline vistas. Continue to Central Market, a cultural landmark showcasing Malaysian arts and crafts. Enjoy a traditional lunch at Old China Café, completing a day blending spirituality, architecture, and heritage charm.

Day 4. Kuala Lumpur to Taman Negara
We depart early today for a scenic three-hour drive to Labu Sentral Jetty. Board a covered wooden longboat and cruise upriver to Mutiara Taman Negara Resort, located in one of the world’s oldest rainforests. After check-in and dinner, venture into the jungle on a guided night walk. Experience the rainforest after dark, listening to cicadas and nocturnal wildlife while breathing in the fresh forest air. This immersive introduction reveals the untouched beauty and biodiversity of Malaysia’s ancient tropical wilderness.

Day 5. Taman Negara Adventure
Today we explore Taman Negara’s lush rainforest on a guided trek through riverine and mixed dipterocarp forest toward Teresek Hill. Climb above the canopy on the suspended walkway for a thrilling aerial rainforest view. After lunch, travel by boat to Lata Berkoh, where cascading waterfalls and cool pools invite relaxation. Spot wildlife and absorb the serenity of this 130-million-year-old ecosystem. The day combines gentle adventure and natural wonder, offering unforgettable encounters with Malaysia’s pristine rainforest landscapes and diverse flora and fauna.

Day 6. Taman Negara to Cameron Highlands
After breakfast, cross the river by boat to Kuala Tahan Jetty and continue by road to Cameron Highlands. Ascend to 1,542 meters above sea level, entering Malaysia’s famed tea-growing region. Upon arrival, we check into our hilltop resort surrounded by cool mountain air and rolling green landscapes. The afternoon is free to relax and enjoy the peaceful highland setting. This transition from dense rainforest to misty hills offers a refreshing change of scenery and climate.

Day 7. Cameron Highlands to Penang
Today we tour the Cameron Highlands, visiting a tea plantation and factory to learn about Malaysia’s worldrenowned tea production. Explore a vegetable farm and local market before departing for Penang. En route, visit historical landmarks in Kuala Kangsar including Ubudiah Mosque and Istana Kenangan. Cross the impressive Penang Bridge, one of Southeast Asia’s longest, arriving in the evening. We check into our hotel and prepare to discover Penang’s unique blend of colonial history, diverse cultures, and celebrated culinary traditions.

Day 8. Heritage Penang
our first visit is to the Kek Lok Si Temple, admiring the towering Kuan Yin statue and the 10,000 Buddha Pagoda. Continue to Penang Hill via the Swiss funicular railway for panoramic island views. After lunch, explore George Town’s UNESCO-listed heritage district. See Wat Chayamangkalaram’s Reclining Buddha, Dhammikarama Temple, Khoo Kongsi clan house, and the Street of Harmony featuring churches, temples, and mosques. Stop at Fort Cornwallis, where Francis Light first landed. This immersive day highlights Penang’s multicultural identity and historical significance.

Day 9. Penang to Banding Island
We travel to Banding Island today, nestled within Tasik Temenggor and surrounded by the ancient BelumTemenggor Rainforest. Upon arrival at Belum Rainforest Resort, enjoy free time to relax in this pristine natural setting. In the afternoon, participate in bamboo rafting or kayaking on the tranquil lake waters. The region is renowned for biodiversity and indigenous culture, offering a peaceful retreat amid lush greenery. Dinner at the resort completes a serene day immersed in Malaysia’s untouched wilderness.

Day 10. Royal Belum Exploration
Today we embark on a guided excursion into Royal Belum State Park. Search for the rare Rafflesia flower and observe wildlife in their natural habitat. Trek through jungle trails to a salt lick and hike toward a scenic waterfall, enjoying a packed lunch along the way. Learn about the rainforest’s ecological importance and rich biodiversity. We return to the resort for relaxation and dinner. This day offers authentic eco-adventure experiences within one of Southeast Asia’s oldest rainforest reserves.

Day 11. Banding to Perhentian Island
Depart Banding and journey toward Malaysia’s East Coast. Upon arrival at Kuala Besut Jetty, board a speedboat for a scenic ride to Perhentian Island. Check into the Marriott Perhentian Island Resort and enjoy leisure time to unwind. Surrounded by turquoise waters and white sandy beaches, the island offers a tropical paradise atmosphere. Relax by the sea, swim in crystal-clear waters, or simply soak in the peaceful ambiance of this idyllic coastal destination.

Day 12. At Leisure in Perhentian

Day 14. Return to Kuala Lumpur
After breakfast, we transfer by speedboat back to Kuala Besut and continue to Kota Bharu Airport for our domestic flight to Kuala Lumpur. Upon arrival at KUL, we transfer to our hotel for our final evening in Malaysia. Enjoy free time for last-minute shopping or dining in the city. This transitional day reconnects us with the capital while reflecting on the diverse landscapes experienced throughout our journey.

Day 15. Kuala Lumpur to Sydney
After breakfast, we transfer to Kuala Lumpur Airport for our flight home. We arrive home with lasting memories of cultural discoveries, rainforest exploration, highland landscapes, heritage cities, and tropical island relaxation.
