Arrive in Munich, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Nuremberg. This German city is the site of Hitler’s now infamous rallies during World War II.

Having reached the Danube River overnight, you will dock in Regensburg this morning. Here, wander along its cobblestone lanes, taking a journey through the ages as you explore the historic streets, medieval buildings and cultural sites on your guided walking tour.

DAY 4 Passau
Enjoy a Bavarian evening on board with local beer, snacks and traditional German entertainment.
As you enjoy your breakfast, arrive in the ‘Three Rivers City’ of Passau, where the rivers Inn and Ilz join the Danube. Discover the city at your leisure this morning, or grab a bike and set out to explore. Alternatively, join an optional tour to Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic, or travel to Salzburg and enjoy the sights from ‘The Sound of Music’.

DAY 5 Melk, Durnstein
Dock in Melk and join a local guide for a tour through Melk Abbey, an active Benedictine monastery since 1089. This magnificent abbey is home to around two dozen practising monks. After, discover Durnstein, the town overlooked by the hilltop ruins of the castle where King Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned back in 1192.
