Day 1. Sat 15 Aug: Homeport - Darwin

Flight Details: Homeport - Darwin (flight details to be advised)

On arrival in Darwin we are met by our Top End Coach Captain before transferring to our hotel for check in and freshen up before dinner at our hotel.

Day 2. Sun 16 Aug: Darwin Touring

After a leisurely breakfast we begin our Darwin highlights tour, visiting the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, featuring Cyclone Tracy, Indigenous art, and “Sweetheart” the crocodile. At Stokes Hill Wharf, guests tour the Royal Flying Doctor Service Tourist Facility and Bombing of Darwin Harbour Museum before exploring the WWII Oil Storage Tunnels. After free time for lunch and a hotel rest, the day concludes with a relaxing Darwin Harbour Sunset Dinner Cruise.

Day 3. Mon 17 Aug: Darwin - Kakadu

After breakfast we depart Darwin for Kakadu National Park via Humpty Doo, stopping at the Wetland View Top Visitors Centre for panoramic views, cultural talks, and interactive displays. Travellers enjoy a thrilling Jumping Crocodile Cruise on the Adelaide River, spotting diverse wildlife and saltwater crocodiles. After lunch, the tour continues to Jabiru to visit the Marrawuddi Arts and Cultural Centre, showcasing Kakadu and West Arnhem culture. The day ends with check-in, relaxation, and dinner at the Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel’s Escarpment Restaurant before an overnight stay

Day 4. Tue 18 Aug: Kakadu National Park - Cooinda

We have an early breakfast today before travelling to Cooinda for a two-hour Yellow Water Cruise through Kakadu’s wetlands, where crocodiles, birds, and wild horses inhabit lush paperbark forests and mangroves. Afterward, guests visit the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre to explore artefacts, videos, and stories shared by traditional owners. A buffet lunch at Cooinda Lodge follows before returning to Jabiru via Nourlangie Rock to view ancient Aboriginal rock art and scenic lookouts. The evening concludes with dinner and relaxation at Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel

Day 5. Wed 19 Aug: Kakadu - Katherine

This morning, we depart for Katherine stopping in Pine Creek for a comfort stop and morning tea at the iconic Maysie’s Café. Late morning, we arrive at the Katherine Outback Heritage Museum, housed in a World War 11 air terminal it contains the first ‘flying doctor’ Dr. Clyde Fenton’s De Havilland Gypsy Moth plane, used in his pioneering aero-medical work in the 1930s. After lunch, we enjoy a "2 Gorge Cultural Cruise" on the Katherine River, cruise along two gorges and discover the customs of the traditional land owners, the Jawoyn people. Later in the afternoon we arrive at our hotel for check in with time to relax before dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Day 6. Thu 20 Aug: Katherine - Kununurra

Leaving Katherine we head west along the Victoria Highway through the rugged Australian outback enjoying stops along the way to stretch our legs and take photos before stopping at the green shady oasis of Timber Creek to purchase lunch. We continue west reaching the border of NT and WA and arrive in the East Kimberley township of Kununurra mid-afternoon. After taking in some sites around Kununurra including Kelly’s Knob Lower Lookout and a short drive up to the Ivanhoe Crossing we check into our accommodation. We have time to relax or take a swim before a relaxing dinner.

Day 7. Fri 21 Aug: Kununurra - Lake Argyle - Ord River Sunset Cruise

We enjoy a leisurely morning in Kununurra or the optional Bungle Bungles and Lake Argyle Air Safari, a two-hour scenic flight showcasing the Diversion Dam, Lake Argyle, Osmond Range, and Purnululu National Park. Later, travel through Durack country to Lake Argyle, visiting the Durack Homestead Museum before viewing the lake’s grandeur and the Ord Hydro-Power Station. Cruise 55km along the Ord River back to Kununurra, admiring wildlife and stunning scenery with afternoon tea en route. Conclude with a colourful sunset dinner.

Day 8. Sat 22 Aug: Kununurra - Wyndham - Halls Creek

We depart Kununurra for Wyndham, the Kimberley’s northernmost town. At Five Rivers Lookout, enjoy breathtaking views of the Ord, Forrest, King, Durack, and Pentecost Rivers meeting Cambridge Gulf. Discover Wyndham’s rich history - from the gold rush and meatworks to Australia’s first Royal Flying Doctor base and WWI wireless station. After lunch at Doon Doon Station, continue to Halls Creek, gateway to the Great Sandy Desert. Visit the Old Halls Creek ruins and China Wall, a natural quartz formation, before checking into Halls Creek Motel for dinner and overnight.

Day 9. Sun 23 Aug: Halls Creek – Fitzroy Crossing - Derby

This morning we farewell our hosts and depart for Fitzroy Crossing. In January 2023 the Kimberley region experienced flooding from heavy rainfall caused by ex-Tropical Cyclone Ellie. The significant rainfall caused major damages and has effected a lot of the regions infrastructure including roads and the Fitzroy River Bridge as well as the community greatly. We have lunch at the Fitzroy River Lodge before continuing to Derby, stopping at the Boab Prison tree on our way into town which is rich with cultural diversity and where the local indigenous people are a large part of the community. After checking into our hotel we have time to relax before dinner.

Day 10. Mon 24 Aug: Derby - Broome

After breakfast we take a look at the Wharf/Jetty and also drop by the Visitor Info Centre before our journey down into Broome. On arrival enjoy some free time to purchase lunch before our “Highlights of Broome Tour” where we hear the fascinating stories of the colourful precinct of Chinatown, Streeters Jetty where the Pearl Luggers unload their oysters and the famous Sun Pictures and the world’s oldest operating open air pictures garden (now listed in the Guinness World Records). We then check in to our hotel and freshen up before enjoying Sunset Drinks at the iconic Cable Beach then return back to the hotel for dinner. Optional Sunset Camel Rides available on the beach (not included).

Day 11. Tue 25 Aug: Free morning in Broome - Whale Watching & Sunset Cruise

Today we are free to do as we wish and explore Broome or take up one of the optional tours available (not included): Half Day Horizontal Falls; Half Day Broome Dinosaur Adventure; Half Day Reef Fishing, plus more - POA. This afternoon at 12.30pm we are transferred down to the beach for an unforgettable Whale Watching and Sunset Cruise on the stunning waters of Broome. View the humpback whales, learn about their breeding and mating behaviours and take in the boundless natural beauty as the crew spoil us with delicious nibbles all afternoon. After sunset we transfer back to the resort with dinner tonight by own arrangement and cost

Day 12. Wed 26 Aug: Broome

Today we are transferred across to Willie Creek Pearl Farm to learn of the fascinating world of cultured pearling. We hop on board the “Willie Wanderer” and hear of the modern pearling techniques and view the pearl panels suspended in the creek and see how the finest pearls in the world are produced. Our guide demonstrates the intricate process of culturing pearls including the seeding of a live oyster shell. We have the opportunity to purchase direct from a range of gifts and jewellery at the shop before heading back into Broome to purchase lunch and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. This evening we gather back at the hotel for our final night and farewell dinner

Day 13. Thurs 27 Aug: Broome - Homeport

This morning, after a leisurely breakfast and checkout, enjoy some free time before collecting your luggage. We then bid farewell to Broome and transfer by coach to the airport for our flight home, concluding a wonderful fortnight exploring the Top End with Trade Travel.
