Itinerary


Day 1: Homeport - Yeppoon

Flight Details: Homeport - Rockhampton (flight times to be advised) Today we depart on our flight from our Homeport to Rockhampton to begin our tour of this beautiful and diverse region encompassing Yeppoon, Rockhampton and of course the Southern Great Barrier Reef. Upon arrival, we meet our host and enjoy some free time to purchase our own lunch. Following lunch we stop at Shell World and the Wreck Point Scenic Lookout. We then continue to our beachfront accommodation at Rosslyn Bay Resort, to check-in and unpack before enjoying our first dinner on the Capricorn Coast.

Day 2: Coastal Touring

It is all about exploring today as our Coach Captain gives us commentary about the town before visiting Emu Park which is home to amazing sights such as Bluff Rock, Double Head and the Causeway Lake. We take time to view th Singing Ship, which commemorates Captain James Cook and his nautical exploration of the region’s coastal line. Not to be missed is the Centenary of ANZAC Commemorative Precinct designed to honour 100 years of ANZAC.

Next stop is the Koorana Crocodile Farm, established in 1981, the Lever family have worked hard to grow the farm commercially holding over 3,000 crocs. After morning tea and an informative educational tour, we say goodbye and return to Yeppoon for some free time to purchase our own lunch, before a visit to the Yeppoon Lagoon and view the Pelicans on Patrol Artwork. We return to the Resort to freshen up before dinner in the Resort and reflect on the highlights of the day.

Day 3: Free Day

Today is your choice - a day of leisure and relaxation or a Lunch Cruise across the Bay to Great Keppel Island. Optional tour must be booked at time of booking tour.

Great Keppel Island - Enjoy the Coral Lunch Cruise to this beautiful island including a Glass Bottom boat tour, snorkelling, morning tea, lunch and free time exploring the island. Cost $120.00 per person (subject to change) - transfers to Ferry terminal on request. This evening we enjoy dinner at Beaches Restaurant.

Day 4: Rockhampton Touring

This morning we have a brief stop at the St Christopher’s Chapel, before continuing onto the real country experience. Watch the action at Gracemere Sale Yards, they host the worlds largest stud sale every Wednesday. Once we have observed the live auction we enjoy morning tea before continuing into Rockhampton CBD for a scenic drive through the town and view the rich heritage buildings, including the St Joseph’s Cathedral. We then enjoy lunch at the local Pub - The Criterion Hotel. After lunch wander across the road to view them mighty Fitzroy River before we continue out to the Capricorn Caves for a guided tour of the magnificent limestone caves, one of the largest privately owned cave systems in Australia.

This evening we will dine out at a local Restaurant, enjoying the local produce of the region. We then return to the Resort for a good nights rest after a great day of touring.

Day 5: Byfield National Park

Today we travel north to explore the Byfield National Park, see outstanding coastal scenery and the rugged pinnacles of The Peaks and Mount Atherton that dominate the landscape. Our first stop is Waterpark Farm to meet our host Jordan for an informative nature cruise along Waterpark Creek. We then join the Safari Bus for a behind the scenes look at the farming process, production and distillery of pure tea tree oil. Just a short distance away we visit Ferns Hideaway, for a chance to see the beautiful birds and wildlife before enjoying lunch in this beautiful setting. We finish the day at Nob Creek Pottery exhibiting quality craft, art and sculptural work with over 45 artists on show in their three large galleries.

This evening we transfer from the resort to the Footlights Theatre Restaurant for our Christmas in July Dinner with all the trimmings. Dress up in your best Christmas attire and enjoy a delicious dinner and fantastic theatre show for our final night in the Capricorn.

Day 6: Yeppoon - Homeport

Flight Details: Rockhampton - Homeport (flight times to be advised)

This morning we farewell our hosts and transfer back to the Rockhampton Airport for our flights home, after a relaxing holiday in the Capricorn with Trade Travel.
