Our Bundaberg Breakaway begins as we depart Brisbane aboard our luxury coach, travelling north through
Queensland’s picturesque hinterland. Our first stop is the charming village of Montville, where guests can browse
boutique stores before enjoying morning tea at The Edge Café with sweeping coastal views. Continuing to Tinana,
we visit Lychee Divine Farm for sparkling wine tastings, a dam cruise and a light lunch before arriving in
Bundaberg. After motel check-in, we gather together for a welcoming dinner.

Day 2. Tue 09 Nov: Bundaberg Touring
Today we explore Bundaberg’s most iconic attractions, beginning with a guided tour and tastings at the famous Bundaberg Barrel. We then visit the beautiful Bundaberg Botanical Gardens and Fairymead House Museum, showcasing the region’s rich sugar industry history. At Hinkler Hall of Aviation, discover the inspiring story of
pioneering aviator Bert Hinkler before enjoying lunch at Café 1928. This afternoon, experience the renowned Bundaberg Rum Distillery with museum entry, guided tour and tastings. We head back to the motel for an early dinner, before making our way to Mon Repos Turtle Rookery for a guided tour during breeding season.

Day 3. Wed 10 Nov: Agnes Waters & The Town of 1770
This morning we travel north to Agnes Waters and the historic Town of 1770, where Captain James Cook first came ashore in Queensland. Our adventure continues aboard the amphibious vessel “The LARC” as we journey through Eurimbula National Park to Bustard Head Lighthouse. Enjoy spectacular coastal views while hearing stories of lighthouse keepers, early settlers and the region’s fascinating maritime history. Morning tea and a picnic lunch are included during this unforgettable experience. We can also relax on the beach, swim or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings before returning to Bundaberg for dinner.

Day 4. Thu 11 Nov: Lady Musgrave Island Cruise
The highlight of the tour awaits today as we cruise from Port Bundaberg Marina aboard the luxurious Reef Empress catamaran to Lady Musgrave Island on the Southern Great Barrier Reef. Along the journey, keep watch for dolphins, manta rays and seabirds while enjoying morning refreshments onboard. Upon arrival, discover the island’s natural beauty and ecological significance during a guided island tour. A glass-bottom boat cruise provides an incredible opportunity to view colourful coral formations and vibrant marine life beneath the crystal-clear waters. After returning to Bundaberg, enjoy a light dinner and a relaxing evening at the motel.

Day 5. Fri 12 Nov: Bundaberg to Homeport
After breakfast and checkout, we begin our journey south towards Brisbane. Our first stop is Childers, where we visit the moving Palace Backpackers Memorial, honouring the lives lost in the tragic 2000 fire. Continuing to Yandina, we enjoy a visit to the famous Ginger Factory, learning how Buderim ginger is grown and transformed into its popular products. The experience includes tastings, lunch and time to browse the gift shop for local treats and souvenirs. Relax onboard as we continue to Brisbane Airport for our flights home, reflecting on the wonderful
memories made along the way.
