Itinerary

Day 1: (D) Melbourne

Welcome to Marvellous Melbourne tour featuring two day at the races, the Melbourne Cup, and Oaks Day, exploration of Melbourne and some of its most iconic sites and a day in the stunning Mornington Peninsula. On arrival we check-in to our accommodation and settle in as this will be our home for the next four nights. We enjoy our welcome dinner together at one of Melbourne’s iconic restaurants.

Day 2: (B) The Melbourne Cup

Colloquially known as the ‘race that stops the nation’ the Melbourne Cup, is one of Australia’s greatest sporting events and is a must do sporting spectacle when in Melbourne on the first Tuesday of any November. The excitement of being part of the grandstands filled to the brim, the silent audience waiting in anticipation and the joy of the horse to cross the finish line first is a feeling like no other. While racing is the main event, Cup Day also combines with fashion and entertainment for a fantastic day at the races. We have organised pre-paid entrance to the course with a reserved seat in the stands so you can soak up the amazing atmosphere that is ‘the Cup’.

Day 3: (B,L) The Mornington Peninsula

After our day at the races, and hopefully with a few winners in our pockets we have a wonderful day ahead travelling to the glorious Mornington Peninsula. Our first top is the Peninsula Hot Springs, the Springs are an award-winning natural hot springs, day spa and wellness destination. Natural geothermal mineral waters flow into the pools and private baths at this coastal oasis and will provide an idyllic setting for some relaxation and rejuvenation. The Mornington Peninsula is renowned for its vineyards and wineries, so following our time at the Springs we make our way to one of them for a delicious lunch with a glass of one of their finest drops. After a relaxed lunch as we make our way back to Melbourne we will detour via Arthurs Seat and will take in the amazing scenery that is provided gliding quietly through the sky in a gondola at Arthurs Seat Eagle. With uninterrupted views across Port Phillip Bay, and glimpses of Westernport Bay and framed by swaying gum trees we immersed by the magic landscape.

Day 4: (B) Kennedy Oaks Day

The tradition of Oaks Day is beauty, femininity, style and grace and is often referred to as Ladies Day. ... It’s a day that the racegoer can embrace wonderment and escape the normal of a week.to Hay for our overnight stop. Before checking into And whilst the main draw card of the race day are the stars of the track, the other popular event on Oaks Day is the annual “Fashions on the Field” celebrations. Introduced by the Victoria Racing Club in 1962 in an effort to woo more women to the track, Ladies day and the Fashions on the Field concept has grown considerably with each year and is now adopted at racetracks and smaller events all over the world. Again we have arranged for entry to the course together with a reserved seat in the stands.

DAY 5: (B) Heading home

And all of a sudden our last day has arrived, but before we head home with our bags packed full of memories of a wonderful tour to Melbourne there are a couple of other iconic Melbourne things to see and do. This morning we make our way to the iconic Brighton Beach Boxes. The bathing boxes, some dating back to the 1860’s hold a key place in Melbourne’s heritage, providing a rare and unique glimpse into Brighton’s origins, and today are painted in a true rainbow of colours and designs. From the beach boxes we travel to the historic Queen Victoria Market … listed on both the Victorian, and National Heritage Registers it is a true shopper’s paradise, with everything from clothes, collectables, fresh produce and much much more. Having wandered the markets and had lunch (at own expense) we board the coach and head to the airport for our flights home (please book flights after 1pm).
