Itinerary


  1. Day 1

    Day 1: Fly to Saigon

    Fly to Saigon for a two-night stay. Depending on your time of arrival, the rest of the day is yours to start soaking up the local culture.

  2. Day 2

    Day 2: Cu Chi Tunnels

    Confront the reality of guerrilla warfare at the astonishing Cu Chi Tunnels before returning to Saigon. Seamlessly blending past and present, Saigon is the city that is driving Vietnam towards a brighter future. Visit the Central Post Office. Spend time at the Reunification Palace and the chilling War Remnants Museum.

  3. Day 3

    Day 3: Mekong Delta Cruise

    Drive down to Ben Tre to take a cruise through the Mekong Delta, an area known as the ‘Rice Basket of Vietnam’. Paddle through the maze of palm-lined canals, and enjoy a typical Mekong lunch. Travel to Can Tho for an overnight stay.

  4. Day 4

    Day 4: Cai Rang Floating Markets

    Visit the Cai Rang floating markets to see the goods on sale and learn how vermicelli rice noodles are made. Return to Saigon.

  5. Day 5

    Day 5: Journey to Dalat

    Head up into the cooler climate and wonderful scenery of the highlands to the colonial town of Dalat, stopping at Bao Loc tea plantation en route.

  6. Day 6

    Day 6: Explore Dalat

    Visit the Domaine de Marie Church, the Flower Gardens and an embroidery workshop. Board an open-air train for a journey through fantastic scenery to Trai Mat hamlet. End the day with a local coffee by Xuan Huong lake.

  7. Day 7

    Day 7: Nha Trang Coastal Cruise

    Travel down from the highlands and along the coast to Nha Trang, Vietnam’s beach capital. Take to the turquoise waters for a cruise around the bay’s many islands, including a stop to enjoy a swim in the refreshing waters.

  8. Day 8

    Day 8: Qui Nhon

    Visit the Po Nagar Cham Towers and continue on to the coastal city of Qui Nhon.

  9. Day 9

    Day 9: My Son and Hoi An

    Leave Qui Nhon this morning stopping at Son My to pay homage to the victims of the My Lai massacre before continuing to Hoi An. The afternoon is at leisure.

  10. Day 10

    Day 10: Explore Hoi an on Foot

    Take a morning walking tour of charming Hoi An – a wonderfully laidback and wilfully traditional town that has managed to retain the charms of a bygone era. Visit a lovely old-style house, the Japanese Bridge, a Chinese temple and the market. Stop en route to visit Reaching Out, a social enterprise craft workshop, and watch the artisans at work.

  11. Day 11

    Day 11: Hue

    Take the scenic route to Hue over the Hai Van Pass. The epitome of Vietnam’s dynastic past, Hue is a dignified and scholarly city. Visit the Royal Tomb of Minh Mang.

  12. Day 12

    Day 12: Hue's Imperial Citadel

    Take a drive to the imposing Imperial Citadel to explore. Cruise along the Perfume River Thien Mu Pagoda before heading to An Hien House.

  13. Day 13

    Day 13: Old Quarter Cyclo Tour

    Exuding a wonderfully exotic aura, Hanoi is the perfect combination of old and new Asia. Admire the collections of the Fine Arts Museum and take a cyclo through the atmospheric tangle of streets that make up the Old Quarter. Later enjoy a Vietnamese coffee at a café overlooking Hoan Kiem Lake. In the evening, watch a performance of the famous water puppets.

  14. Day 14

    Day 14: Discover Hanoi

    Explore the Ho Chi Minh Quarter, passing by Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, the Humble House on Stilts, One Pillar Pagoda and the Temple of Literature.

  15. Day 15

    Days15 16: Halong Bay

    Spend the day cruising through the awe-inspiring beauty of Halong Bay. Enjoy a visit to Surprise Cave. The next day return to Hanoi.

  16. Day 16

    Days 17 18: Hanoi to Australia

    Transfer to the airport for your flight to Australia, arriving home to same or following day.
