Water Activities

Blessed with a beautiful coastline, Hainan boasts an array of exciting water activities. Explore the colourful reefs and fish with a diving adventure, or perhaps learn to surf. From sailing to parasailing or even white-water rafting, there is something for everyone.

Rainforest

Hainan has China's largest expanse of rainforest and is home to many unique animals only found in this part of world. Try spotting animals such as the endangered Hainan Gibbon, clouded leopards, cobras, Asiatic black bears, pangolins and many more!

Hot Springs

Because of its location on the pacific 'Ring of Fire,' Hainan is the most geothermally active province in China. This means there is no shortage of stunning and relaxing hot springs. Take your pick from over 150 hot springs all of which have been enjoyed for their health benefits since ancient times.

Golf

Long summers and no winter weather make Hainan the perfect golf getaway all year round. Golf the island from North to South and experience the scenic courses located along the beach, on island cliffs, in seaside forests, on tranquil lake shores, in rolling hills, plus more. Explore over 74 courses.

Countryside

Dotted amongst the vast tracts of fields and forests, villages stand with their own special ambiance and ancient cultural traditions. These colourful and unique villages combine to create an unparalleled landscape full of wild beauty and gentle island spirit.

Food

Freshly caught seafood and the enticing smell of an entire suckling pig roasting over a bonfire will leave you dreaming of coming back for more. In addition, try the unique cuisines of the local Li and Miao people, passed down through countless generations, such as shanlan rice and wild meat bamboo rice.

Cultural Heritage

The first inhabitants, the Li people migrated from mainland China to Hainan over 5,000 years ago bringing with them distinctive boat shaped thatched mud houses which can still be seen in many small villages today.

Haikou

The capital of Hainan Island, features streets lined with palm trees, locals selling coconuts, and alleyways laden with street food tucked away in historic quarters. Mix with the locals with a cup of tea in the 'Old Dad's Tea' shops or enjoy a performance of traditional Hainan Opera.
