10 DAY AN INDIAN EXPERIENCE TOUR ITINERARY
Our An Indian Experience itinerary has been intricately designed for those who wish to see iconic sites and magnificent treasures. Day 1: Fly Australia to Delhi
Fly to India's vivacious capital, Delhi for a two-night stay. On Arrival at the airport you will be met by a member of the Wendy Wu Tours team and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2: Discover Delhi
Starting in Old Delhi, embark on a rickshaw ride through the atmospheric streets, stopping at Jama Masjid, a Mughal masterpiece of a mosque. Wander through a local market and learn about native herbs and spices as you go. Explore New Delhi and admire the colonial grandeur of the Rajpath, including the Rashtrapati Bhavan and India Gate. Tonight will be a welcoming meal.
Day 3: Travel to Agra
Journey to Agra by road to tour magnificent Agra Fort. This mass of red standstone sits on the bank of the Yamuna River, and from its ramparts you may catch a first glimpse of the Taj Mahal, just 2km downstream. Next take a rickshaw tour of the city and visit a fascinating spice and ayurvedic herb market.
Day 4: Taj Mahal
Rise early for an unforgettable sunrise at the Taj Mahal, when crowds are at their thinnest and the building looks magical. Visit a marble inlay workshop for an insight into the skills that made the Taj Mahal so beautiful, then drive to Ranthambore National Park, home of the majestic Bengal Tigers.
Day 5: Tigers of Ranthambore
Explore Ranthambore National Park in search of tigers, taking early morning and afternoon canter safaris. There are around 50 tigers living amongst the park's wild, undulating landscapes, as well as leopards, nilgai, sloth bears, wild boar, hyena and more than 300 species of bird
Day 6: Travel to Jaipur
Departing Ranthambore, travel by road to Jaipur, the famously beautiful 'Pink City'. Stop en route to admire exquisitely carved and unique Chand Baori stepwell, built over a thousand years ago and one of the largest in the world. On arrival, the rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 7: Explore Jaipur
Begin with a photo stop at the Hawa Mahal, the 'Palace of the Winds', then travel out of the city to admire the majestic Amer Fort, a colossal 16th-Century yellow and pink sandstone fort just 11km out of Jaipur. Back in the city, try your hand at traditional artistries and carpet weaving, then stroll through the local bazaar at Choti Choper.
Day 8: Travel to Delhi
Return by road to Delhi, with the rest of the day free to spend as you wish. This evening, the group will enjoy a farewell dinner and cooking demonstration at an indian family home.
Days 9 10: Fly Delhi to Australia
After breakfast and check-out, transfer to the airport for your flight to Australia, arriving home the same day or following day.
