Day 1

Overnight flight from Australia Embark on an inspirational journey through Poland and discover this country's deep history and religious wonders.

Day 2

Warsaw, Poland You will come to know the city of Warsaw with its blend of Old World charm and deep history. Tonight, get to know your fellow travellers during a welcome dinner. (D) Hampton by Hilton, Warsaw

Day 3

Warsaw Embrace the moving history of Warsaw, a city reborn after WWII, as you embark on a locally guided tour. Your journey through this capital city includes a stop at what remains of the Warsaw Ghetto. Pause to celebrate mass at 3/9 Zytnia Street Church, home to the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy, where Saint Faustina entered the convent. The remainder of the day is free to take in the side streets and quaint cafes in the Old Town, explore a museum or simply relax. (B) Hampton by Hilton, Warsaw

Day 4

Warsaw - Niepokalanow - Czestochowa Journey to Niepokalanow to discover one of the largest Franciscan monasteries in the world (founded by Saint Maximilian Kolbe). Continue south to Czestochowa, the spiritual capital of Poland. Begin your visit by celebrating mass. Then, journey inside the Jasna Gora Monastery to get up close to the famous Black Madonna. Pope Saint John Paul II visited this miraculous image many times during his papacy. (B,D)

Day 5

Czestochowa - Wadowice - Krakow Get a glimpse into the formative years of the beloved Pope Saint John Paul II with a visit to Wadowice, the town where he was born and raised. Step into the past when you see the church where he was baptized. In 1992, the ope gave the church the status of Basilica Minor. Continue to Krakow and explore the city on a tour with a local expert that includes a visit to the Market Square. Pause for a prayer at St Mary's Church..be amazed by its famous wooden altarpiece created by Wit Stwosz (Veil Stoss) one of the best sculptors of the Middle Ages. You will also see the impressive Wawel Castle, the former residence of Polish kings. (B,D) Mercure, Czestochowa

Day 6

Krakow - Auschwitz - Krakow Today you embark on a poignant journey through history as you travel to Auschwitz. A local expert guides you through the former concentration camp where you will learn firsthand about the terrors - as well as the resilience- of the human spirit that occurred within those walls. Return to Krakow to visit the Shrine of Divine Mercy where the tomb of Saint Faustina is located. Spend time in worship and contemplation on the site of the monastery of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy where Saint Faustina lived and died. (B) Holiday Inn, Krakow

Day 7

Krakow - Zakopane - Krakow Travel to Zakopane, Poland's most popular resort. With its stunning scenery, it is the perfect place to get up close to nature. The area has countless nature trails where Pope Saint John Paul II would spend time strolling along in prayer and reflection. Make a stop to see the charming wooden Jaszczrowka Chapel and sanctuary dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima, built in Thanksgiving after Pope Saint John Paul II's life was saved in 1981. The remainder of your afternoon is at leisure. Tonight, enjoy a folklore show and dinner at a traditional Polish restaurant. (B,D) Holiday Inn, Krakow

Day 8

Krakow - Warsaw Your journey through Poland comes full circle with your return to Warsaw. This evening, join your fellow travellers for a farewell dinner celebrating a fantastic journey. (B,D) Hampton by Hilton, Warsaw

Warsaw Your journey comes to a close. Depart with new perspectives, a strengthened faith and treasured memories.

Book your airfares with Collette Tours and receive complimentary airport limo transfers in Australia (conditions apply) and airport transfers in Poland. The tour activity level is Level 3 which includes moderate physical activity. The itinerary blends some longer days with shorter days and more leisure time. Walking tours, as well as walking slightly longer distances, up stairs or on uneven walking surfaces should be expected.
