Day 2

Budapest Awake to views of one of the Danube’s most enchanting riverside cities this morning. Disembark and learn all about Budapest’s colourful history as your local guide takes you to Matthias Church, the Fisherman’s Bastion, Heroes’ Square and Buda Castle. Day 3

Vienna Embrace the sheer elegance of Vienna as you drive around the Ringstrasse this morning, taking in some of the city’s most famous buildings – the Vienna State Opera, the Museum of Fine Arts and more. Upon arriving in the city centre, join a walking tour for an insider’s view on a number of the best-loved landmarks, including St Stephen’s Cathedral, the Graben, Hofburg Palace and the Albertina. Day 4

Vienna With the day at leisure, you may like to further explore the Hofburg area – home to the Imperial Treasury and the Spanish Riding School – or wander along Kärntnerstrasse, the city’s famous shopping strip. Daily : Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 5

Dürnstein, Melk Cruise to the quaint town of Dürnstein and enjoy a stroll over the cobbled streets past 16th-century town houses and taverns. The town is dominated by the hilltop ruins of the castle where King Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned in 1192. Later, dock in Melk and join a local guide for a tour through Melk Abbey. An active Benedictine monastery since 1089, it sits atop a rocky outcrop overlooking the Danube River. Daily : Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 6

Linz, Passau Enjoy a traditional Bavarian experience on board. Sample local beer and snacks, accompanied by traditional folk music, song and dance. Visit the town of Linz and later, cruise to Passau. Daily : Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Regensburg Continue along the Danube River to the enchanting town of Regensburg, located in the southern region of the Bavarian Forest. Here, a guided tour along its cobblestone lanes tells of the medieval town’s journey through the ages. Afterwards, enjoy some time to perhaps wander the historic streets at your own pace. Day 8

Nuremberg Glide over the Main-Danube Canal, crossing Europe’s Continental Divide through the canal’s series of incredible stair-step locks. The site of Hitler’s now infamous Nuremberg rallies, held annually from 1927 to 1938, Nuremberg played a pivotal role for the Nazis during World War II. You’ll learn about the city and indeed the era during a World War II tour today, which includes such sites as the Zeppelin Field, the Palace of Justice and much more. Day 9

Bamberg One of the few German cities that wasn’t destroyed during World War II, World Heritage-listed Bamberg beckons your attention morning. You’ll gain great insight during a locally guided tour of the historic city centre. Daily : Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner .

Day 10

Würzburg Verdant hills and rich vineyards sit on the edge of Würzburg, while the Main River is a prominent feature of this stunning city. The architectural beauty that further defines Würzburg is on show today as you admire its magnificent baroque palace, the Würzburg Residence. Day 11

Miltenberg Discover true German hospitality as you are welcomed into the homes of friendly Miltenberg locals for coffee and cake. Arrive at the beautifully evocative town of Miltenberg, perfectly positioned on the confluence of the Tauber and Main rivers. Return to your ship and enjoy time at leisure, taking advantage of the onboard facilities as you glide along the Main River. Day 12

Rüdesheim, Rhine Gorge In Rüdesheim, the Winzerexpress mini-train will take you through town to Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum. After, as you continue cruising, you will encounter a true holiday highlight – the spectacular Rhine Gorge, widely regarded as the most beautiful section of the Rhine River. Grab your camera and head to the Sun Deck for the best views, watching in awe as you drift past steep vine-covered slopes dotted with ancient castles and strongholds. Day 13

Cologne, Augustusburg Castle Pay a visit to World Heritage-listed Augustusburg Castle and Falkenlust hunting lodge, the lavish rococo-style residences of archbishop-elector Clemens August. Disembark your ship in Cologne and drive to the town of Brühl. On a tour of the 18th-century castle, learn enthralling stories of its infamous former resident and enjoy a guided walk through the perfectly landscaped parks and flowering gardens to Falkenlust hunting lodge. Later this afternoon, return to Cologne and enjoy some time to drift through this enchanting city at leisure and perhaps inspect the exterior of the Cologne Cathedral up close. Day 14

Amsterdam Clustered by historic houses and studded with low bridges, Amsterdam’s network of 17th-century canals lends the city its nickname, ‘Venice of the North’. Upon arrival into Amsterdam, dock in the heart of the city and board a glass-top boat to discover the city’s impressive waterside facades. Disembark Ship, Depart Amsterdam Disembark your river ship for the final time and transfer to the airport for your onward flight. Daily : Breakfast
